New Premium Incentives Service Boosts Fundraising For Local Events
Sales Incentives is boosting the fundraising efforts of local event organizers with a new service reciprocating donations by local businesses with premium incentives. With this new service a local business making a donation to a local event receives equal monetary value in gift certificates in return. The incentives can then be used by local businesses as promotions (i.e., to set appointments, open accounts, encourage test drives, etc.). There are 5 premium incentive plans available. For details,

If, for example, a local event coordinator contacts a car dealership in their community and receives a commitment for a $3,000 donation to the local July 4th parade the dealership is eligible for 500 NASCAR Racing Car gift certificates in exchange. The following premium incentive options are available for 500 gift certificates at $5.95ea:
· $250 Racing Store Shopping Spree - NASCAR
· $500 Jewelry Store Certificate
· $250 in Computer Program & Games
· 3/2 Vacation – Choose From 100+ Locations
· $1,000 Select Your Gifts Shopping Spree
All gift certificates are available in paper form to be distributed via US mail or as point-of-purchase incentives. They can also be redeemed Online via computer.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Sales Incentives assists local event coordinators in formulating proposals to local businesses. The local event remits half of the donation it receives to cover the cost of the premium incentives selected and it retains the other half. Event coordinators agree that it is much more lucrative to offer reciprocal gift certificates -- and give up a portion of the donation -- than just asking businesses for money.
The 500-certificate $3,000 option is the starter package, but larger quantities are available. For example, local businesses can order 1,000 or 2,000 certificates for $6,000 or $12,000, respectively. Or they can order an a la carte premium incentive program with gift certificates ranging from restaurant discounts to grocery coupons.
RESELLER OPPORTUNITIES
Sales Incentives is looking for resellers, especially in rural areas where successful community events are important to the local economy. For details,

Pond hockey helps pay for civic center
The runaway success of Plaster Rock's World Pond Hockey Championship has finally paid off in the form of a new civic centre for the village.
Federal and provincial politicians announced their share of funding for the $3-million project on the weekend.
Hundreds crowded into the Plaster Rock Lions Club Saturday night to celebrate another successful World Pond Hockey Championship. The event and other community fundraisers have come up with $1 million to put toward the complex. Now the government has kicked in $2 million to finish the job.
Volunteer Brenda Witherly says it's nice to see all the hard work pay off. "To actually know that it's going to happen and we're going to have an arena. It just makes it all worthwhile to everybody in Plaster Rock."
Plaster Rock Mayor Peter White says the new facility will make a big difference to his community. "In the middle of winter when it's minus 30 degrees, the walking track is going to be a sheer delight for everybody. And the ice surface itself, I think it's going to rejuvenate the minor hockey program. So there's a lot of things that we can do with the arena once we have it."
Even though they have the prize they were after when they started the tournament, White says pond hockey will go on. "Not only do we need a new arena, but we need a new Zamboni. So there's lots and lots of projects that pond hockey can raise money for. It's going to live on for sure."
White says they hope to be skating in the Tobiqueplex next January.
